13/11/11

Busy, busy, busy...3 words in which I would describe myself at the moment.
I'm trying to focus my attention on creating my personal web page??????????  Confused.com.
I have started to develop one using Google+. I was trying to think of a name to call it, but all the usual titles like Lyn Edwards etc were unavailble so I've settled with The life of Lyndyloo!!! lol. Classy I know. It's still in the early stages, ok...very early stages!  https://sites.google.com/site/thelifeoflyndyloo/
I decided to use Google+ and start from scratch instead of going for the obvious Facebook, of which I do have a account, but rarely post or update my personal information.
This is very much a work in progress!

Wooooohoooooo!!!
My competencies assignment was ok!!
You have no idea the relief I felt as I read Shirley's comment, (I had to read it a few times) It has given me a complete boost!
The feedback is great and very useful from other students, don't get me wrong, but when a tutor says it 'meets the requirement' then...Wooooohoooooo!!

Well the clocks went back, but I missed it! Damn!
It's 9.35 and I'm trying to convince my brain that it's not 10.35 so hopefully it will stay functioning for a while longer.
So I have finally uploaded my competencies table, found it really difficult.  Actually the table was ok, but the explanation of it took a while and still unsure if I'm on any of the right track.
I searched the uni library for any ejournals relating to my job role, but couldn't find anything. Google is always a good tool and my primary one most of the time. I had already searched for relevant websites that I may have found useful earlier on when I was completing my learning journal, my days, that seems so long ago now! So I posted them on the VLE hopefully to help someone else.
I feel really bad thinking about it...I am hopeful for someone to feedback on my draft but I have not had much time recently to feedback on someone elses.
Note to self - Give more feedback! Actually...
Another note to self - Participate more in the VLE overall.
I'm hoping this week I can really catch up with uni work, looking ahead, apart from my science gcse Tuesday evening....
Note to self - Do gcse homework!
...I can't envisage any major unnecessary usage of said evenings.
Anyway my brain has overruled time and is preparing itself for shutdown, so I will say nighty night for now, not that anyone really reads this anyway, well apart from Adam, who only reads my blog to cheer himself up! lol.

Well as you can see it's been a while since my last post.
The last week of term was completely manic, what with school discos and various leaving do's, I didn't manage to log on at all.
But I thought to myself, 'It's ok Lyn, half term is next week, you've got plenty of time to catch up.'
Half term has been completely manic, what with redecorating the lounge and my daughters bedroom ready for the new carpet and catching up with family, I didn't manage to log on at all!
Now the panic has well and truly set in!
Hence why it is 8 o'clock on a Saturday morning and I am sitting here wondering where to begin, so the easy option until I am completely awake was to write here!
I have been checking my emails on my phone every week and have seen the progress some people have been making via the updates I have set up from the VLE.
I have actually felt really guilty that I have neglected my degree work and even when spending time with my family this week, I have thought to myself 'I should really be doing something else', Which in turn made me feel even more guilty, as I don't see my family as often as I would like.
So here I am about to delve into the VLE head first and can't see me coming out till at least Christmas!!
Diving gear? Check.
Caffine? Check.
Willing? Check.

13/10/11

It's been a busy week...funny though, I couldn't really tell you what I've done!
Took my first PPA cover class yesterday.  We made Tudor houses out of modrock (bit like what you get wrapped in if you break a bone).  Thankfully only 10 out of the 26 children used this very messy, but enjoyable material.  Wouldn't like to imagine the mess otherwise!  "Sorry cleaners" (Edwards, 2011) is what I wrote on the whiteboard as I left the classroom.

This week some more good news...the Headteacher has asked if Iwould take groups of  CUSP (children who are inbetween levels, but with a bit of extra help could get a higher level) children out and do booster groups with them in the morning before school.  I do Breakfast Club anyway so was only too happy to help...must be honest, it's lovely playing cards with 15 children 1st thing but I am getting a bit bored of 'chase the ace'.

Where has this week gone? Seriously?
It's good in one way I suppose as I'm one week closer to half term! Yipppppppeeeeeeeeeee!! Could you tell I was happy then?? Lol.
It's 18.13 and I have been at my computer for nearly 4 hours.  Feel as though I've got slightly behind this week, although, making the A-Z of Harvest for the school festival with my 12 year old daughter yesterday didn't help!!  Any ideas for Z anyone?? Nope didn't think so.
So I finally uploaded my work relationships assignment, hoping it's along the right sort of lines.  I also gave my first peer review...found it really hard actually, don't think I'm nearly qualified enough to advise someone when I'm unsure if I'm doing it right myself...after all who am I...it's just my opinion and who says I'm right?
Anyway, only a short blog today, "got nothing to do and too much time to do it in." (Wonker 1971)
How was that referencing??

5/10/11

I have just realised today that I have done the photo story and essay all wrong. I thought the 500 words were linked to the photos!! Damn.
So I've just edited the photo story and now am about to attempted the 500 word essay on what it is actually meant to be about.
Happy days! :o(

On the plus side, my line-manager asked me today if I would be prepared to cover our class PPA on a permanent basis. I was chuffed to be asked, as not only do I enjoy it, but it gives me more experience of what it will be like when I eventually qualify as a teacher.
Happy days! :o)
